The reading
Marvin and his aunt are traveling to school. Their journey card says, "Bus 12, Oak School." At the stop, they check the destination on each arriving bus rather than judging it by its color. Marvin keeps the card in the front pocket of his blue backpack.
A bus appears, but its display says "Bus 8, Town Center." Marvin checks his card and stays with his aunt. This bus is going somewhere else. After it leaves, the stop's information board says Bus 12 is delayed by five minutes. Delayed means arriving later than planned.
The road feels noisy to Marvin today. He chooses the bench farther from the road. From there, he can still see the arriving buses. His aunt sits beside him. They check the information board again instead of assuming the bus has been canceled.
When Bus 12 arrives, they read "Oak School" on its display. They wait for the bus to stop and its doors to open. Then they board together. Marvin puts his bag on his lap and looks at the journey card once more. A different bus and a short delay changed their wait, but not their destination.
